My 5 Tips for Writing a Great Resume

My 5 Tips for Writing a Great Resume

As I mentioned in this post, I accepted a job offer late last fall. Leading up to that offer though, I had so many interviews. And I submitted even more applications that didn’t ever lead to an interview. At the end of the day, searching for a job is a numbers game. The more applications you submit, the higher your chances of landing at least one interview. The more interviews you have, the greater your chances of receiving a job offer.

But… what can one do to improve her chances of getting that interview? The simple answer? Make your resume the most appetizing thing that comes across the recruiter’s desk that day. But how does one do that? To help you get your resume in fighting shape, I’ve worked with one of my besties (she works as a recruiter!) to round up my 5 tips for writing a great resume.

Oh and BTW before we dive in: my top, skirtcoat , and sunglasses are all on sale! And you’re def gonna want to register for this week’s giveaway!!! (Trust me!)

My Best Tips and Tricks to Help You Get Glam on a Budget

My Best Tips and Tricks to Help You Get Glam on a Budget

I hope y’all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I celebrated the holiday with one of my best friends. And our holiday went from not-so-glam to super glam. We had take-out Crisp salads for dinner and then we went to Dallas Opera’s The Ring of Polykrates + Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D major. It was the perfect production for Valentine’s Day. I had never heard of this opera before, but it was absolutely delightful. And adorable.

As we were getting ready for the opera and getting the lettuce out of our teeth (glamorous, I know), I started thinking about what I would post today. And then I took a look at my counter and realized I use the same products every time I need to get glam. It’s seriously almost mechanical. I go to so many events that it now takes me less than 20 minutes to go from fresh-faced to fancy AF.

So, I thought it about time I share all of the products in that routine with y’all… as well as the best dupes to help you get glam on a budget. All of my budget-friendly picks are under $15 and almost all of my non-budget-friendly picks are still under $50.

How to Create a Blog Newsletter

How to Create a Blog Newsletter

Happy Blogging Basics Wednesday! If you’re new to Glitter & Spice, Blogging Basics is a weekly series through which I answer popular questions about blogging. Topics can be as simple as how to balance blogging with a full-time job or why having a blogger bestie is important… Or as complex as plugins you should be using on your site and how to figure out your rate for sponsored posts.

This week, I thought I’d cover how to create a blog newsletter. Sounds fairly straightforward, sure. And once you get it up and running, it will pretty much run itself. But the initial design and creation can be fairly tedious and technical, so I thought I’d give my best tips (and a few examples!).

How to Be Festive for Valentine's Day While Single, Valentine's Day Outfit

My mother’s going to get so depressed when she sees the title for today’s post. But, honestly, I’m actually happy to be flying solo for Valentine’s Day this year.

And by “solo” I mean with a large group of my darling friends. Plus a glass (or a few!) of champagne. Because that’s the best way to celebrate Valentine’s Day while single.

How to Stick to a New Year’s Resolution + a 30 Before 30 Update

How to Stick to a New Year's Resolution + a 30 Before 30 Update

Happy Monday, friends! My to-do list was so never-ending this weekend that I actually fell asleep on the couch last night after dinner, with my computer in hand. So, for the third time in two weeks: better late than never!

Today’s post is all about how to stick to a New Year’s resolution. Each year, I like to set overarching goals for the year. So, instead of “take one trip per month,” it might be “travel more”.

This year, my resolution was to cook more. It was actually to cook in every meal on weekdays and only eat out on weekends, but that was quickly revised as I realized that wasn’t sustainable. Last week, I cooked in for all but two meals (which is quite impressive noting that I maybe cooked in twice in three months last fall!).
