Dress For Success Donation Party

Dress for Success Donation Party

A few weeks ago, I hosted a Bloggers Give Back Dress for Success Donation Party in partnership with both Dress for Success and L’Eggs. Several local bloggers, including Lily and Kara from Dallasites 101, Tayler Malott, Mary-Katherine from Gold Hatted Lover, and Christina from Fashion & Frills, came over to my apartment, arms full of donations, just for the occasion.

Champagne punch was served (obviously) and we spent the afternoon talking about Dress for Success, the unique challenges we face as women in business, and – of course – fashion.

If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you might remember this post I did last fall to raise awareness for Dress for Success.

In the event that you don’t remember (or just can’t even with clicking over), here’s the 411 on Dress for Success: Dress for Success is an international non-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive both personally and professionally. As a businesswoman (yes, I still have a day job… even if it is just for a few more days!), I am proud to support an organization that strives to empower women in business… so the moment L’Eggs and Dress for Success reached out to me about collaborating and hosting a Dress for Success donation party, I couldn’t say “yes!” fast enough.

Through this event, we were able to donate over 50 clothing items to the Dallas chapter of Dress for Success. The girls and I even wrote advice on little tags – both business advice and advice on how to style that particular clothing item. At the end of the party, each of the guests walked out with a pair of L’eggs hosiery (or two!).

If you are planning on spring cleaning (or rather, “summer cleaning”) your wardrobe this summer, definitely keep Dress for Success in mind for the donations!

PS L’eggs is currently offering a discount on their Silken Mist Ultra Sheers (pictured above) as a thank you to anybody who donates to Dress for Success. After donating, just head over to L’eggs and use coupon code FSSM20 at checkout.

A big thank you to L’Eggs and Dress for Success for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
